To be honest, while I thought there was the nugget of a nice game hiding away within PSP Minis match-4 game Vempire, I didn't find the experience terribly exciting.

But having spent months working on the game, developer Impressionware certainly isn't going let future opportunities go to waste and has hence just released a version for iPhone and iPod touch.

A DSiWare version is planned too.

In terms of functionality, obviously the shoulder button controls to rotate your 2 x 2 block selection, as used on the PSP are out, replaced by touch controls.

Other than this however, the flow of the game - matching objects, unlocking new levels, buying power-up minions and artifacts, remains the same.

Maybe the Halloween theme and the cheaper price - $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19 compared to the PSP Mini's price of £3.99 - will ease the audience reaction?

Vempire is out now. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the App Store.
