Further legal action taken by Nintendo and Capcom against flash cart retailers

No mercy for the 'wicked' it would seem

Nintendo, Capcom and 53 other DS software manufacturers have today filed a lawsuit against four companies distributing the R4 Revolution DS device.

The gaming giant consortium is seeking an injunction to prevent distribution of the piracy-enabling equipment, and to recoup losses the R4 has caused.

It would seem that further action was taken because, even though in February the Tokyo District Court ruled in favour of game companies and made it illegal to import and sell the R4, Capcom claims there have been no signs of sales stopping even when multiple warnings have been issued.

In a statement, Capcom said, "We are expecting the entire society, including users, to recognise that our company and other software manufacturers have extremely sustained damages from proliferation of illegal instruments such as the game copying devices."

"The Computer industries have sustained serious damages because of those vendors, and we expect to influence the society to eliminate such illegal instruments from the market," Capcom also stated. Strong words indeed.
