PSPgo Rewards scheme is now live
We got our games
Remember the PSPgo Rewards? You know, the (Europe-only) scheme Sony has implemented to appease those who are 'upgrading' from a PSP to a PSPgo and find themselves without the ability to play their UMD catalogue, and who therefore get to choose three free PSP games from a list of 17 (some of them very good, if a little old).
Well, we registered our PSPgo as soon as the scheme became available on the handheld's launch day last week but were informed, along with all those who did the same, that we'd have to wait for an email with instructions and the download code.
It was the same story when requesting our free copy of Gran Turismo (a promotion that's running for all PSPgo owners until October 10th, no doubt as a way to try and encourage strong early sales for the system).
So we waited. And waited. The process did state the email could take up to 20 days, which seems a little ludicrous - presumably the deadline applies to anyone registering with the scheme, not waiting for the code. Otherwise someone at Sony has got their maths in a muddle.
Still, the emails have now arrived, we've redeemed the code (which carries a 1/10/2010 expiry date, by the way) and we've just spent the last 45 minutes downloading GT and a further 18 minutes installing it.
So the PSPgo Rewards scheme is most definitely working. We're off to select our three free games now.
How about you - any PSPgo owners already got their codes?
