You are dear to us, reader, and we feel bad that your wallet is being plundered so mercilessly for the new PSP hardware upgrade, the PSPgo.

Sony has attempted to sweeten the deal by offering a variety of freebies to early adopters, but the window of opportunity to grab these goodies is quite narrow, so we've been scouring t'internet looking for the best price for the slidey screen system so you don't miss out.

We heard a while back that Tesco Direct was taking pre-orders for the PSPgo at £200, but now we're looking at retail prices, it seems the supermarket giant has upped the cost to £220.

ShopTo.net made clear its intention is not to make much of an effort over promoting the PSP update, and has plumped for the recommended retail price of £225, along with Woolies, GameStation, GAME, Comet and Amazon.

Making an effort to differentiate themselves from the herd is Argos, which is offering the PSPgo at a slightly more favourable £220, while Gameseek has managed to get the price down to £210.

Beating them all, along with the £200 price barrier, is Play.com. The Jersey-based online retail giant has only broken the barrier by a penny, but is offering you a PSPgo for £199.99.

You can still land yourself a PSP-3000 for a hell of a lot less, of course.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
