One of the ways Sony proved its returning interest in the PSP was by promising us a handheld version of LittleBigPlanet, though details have been sparse as how and when we'll actually get it.

The European release date is still listed as a rather ambiguous autumn, but VG247 picked up on a Tokyo Game Show fact sheet showing the Japanese launch scheduled for December 2009.

Previously both Amazon and Play.com had let slip their own estimations on a local release date, though they didn't agree with each other. Now December's been thrown into the mix, it's anyone's guess when we might see it.

Still, according to Tracy's hands-on preview of LittleBigPlanet at E3, it's going to be worth the wait.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
