Sega's answer to Zelda in 1987 - Golvellius: Valley of Doom soldiers onto iPhone
For a not so deathly sum
That's right: developer DotEmu's Golvellius: Valley of Doom is now available on the App Store for a measly £1.19.
For those unfamiliar with the classic slash-'em-up, Golvellius: Valley of Doom was, according to DotEmu, "a contender for The Legend of Zelda," and it was indeed deemed by many to be Sega's answer to Zelda when it was originally released on the Master System way back in 1987.
The object of the game is simple. You're a one man army intent on defeating the evil king Golvellius and saving Princess Rena using only a trusty weapon, some equipment, and a few enchanted artefacts.
Golvellius: Valley of Doom apparently includes an improved user interface, a save system, and the original music revamped in high quality, which for some may summon a few fond memories.
Assuming this title retains part of the greatness of the Sega original, it'll justify the space it takes up on your iPhone with hours of hacking and slashing fun.
