Boulder Dash - Rocks! digs down to App Store

Rockford’s back underground

Boulder Dash - Rocks! digs down to App Store

I guess when you’re having a 25th anniversary, you may as well enjoy it all year long.

So with that in mind - and the fact there’s already been one Boulder Dash game released for iPhone in 2009 - get ready for Boulder Dash - Rocks!, which has just been released for iPhone and iPod touch.

At least, this one features the new blue blobby Rockford, rather than the fresh-faced humanoid that started in Chillingo’s Boulder Dash: Vol 1.

But well it should as this game is based on the DS game that came out back in 2007 - which we actually quite enjoyed.

Reviewer Mike Cook reckoned: “Its appearance might look a little chipped in places, but Boulder Dash's simple, puzzling gameplay is solid as a rock”.

New features in this iPhone version include a control system that lets you play in portrait or landscape mode, and swap between touch & drag or virtual D-pads.

You can upload your score to the global leaderboard and try out the online challenges which have their own special leaderboards.

The game also supports the iPhone’s pinch option so you can zoom into the action.

Boulder Dash - Rocks! is out now, priced $4.99 or £2.99. Hit the Buy It! button to go directly underground to the App Store.
