Red Bull Soapbox Race goes downhill to App Store

Let's hope the wheels don't fall off

Red Bull Soapbox Race goes downhill to App Store

The past weeks have been a busy time for Red Bull apps.

First up, together with publisher I-play and developer Xendex, stunt motor cross game Red Bull X-Fighters was released.

And now, just in time for the Red Bull Soapbox Race in Atlanta, USA on August 29th, the appropriately-named Red Bull Soapbox Racer is out.

Developed by German studio Handy Games, it's a more humorous take on the need for speed as you 'slip into your zany outfit and compete against the wildest teams in your home-made soapbox'.

Part of the game comes from building your own jalopy - something that's enabled using a comprehensive construction editor.

The rest of challenge comes from the various downhill tracks - 21 spread across 7 cities - that you have to navigate your way down, avoiding obstacles along the way.

As well as trying to get the fastest time, you're also awarded points for your creativity, and any tricks and jumps you can pull off.

Red Bull Soapbox Race is out now priced $3.99, €2.99 or £2.39. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the App Store. There's also a free Lite version available here.
