Start your media career with Pocket Gamer
|

Ever wanted to be a respected games journalist or the swaggering head of a media organisation? Then we may be able to help you out. Pocket Gamer is offering an internship at its grand offices in Bath, where the magic happens.

By magic, I of course mean some or all of the following: lots of coffee gets drunk; people chortle at YouTube clips; a man comes round every day selling sweets and cans of juice at what I suspect are discretionary prices; world-leading editorial content is created and published.

If you're not based in Bath, don't worry: we're prepared to let the right candidate work from home.

If that sounds like your kind of life, apply now. Here’s the job ad:

Young Bath-based publisher seeks interns for up to 3 months experience working on the production of leading games and technology websites and magazines. This is an unpaid role that would suit a university candidate looking to gain valuable experience in the Media industry. Successful candidates will be able to work alongside and learn from a team with over 50 years experience at the top level of newsstand and contract magazines and websites, get an understanding for the production process, and genuinely contribute to the running of live projects. Initially the role will require you to work through data entry, building up confidence to create commissioned editorial and working on a variety of editorial projects associated with our leading consumer websites. No experience of publishing is necessary: we simply require good organisational and personal skills, a high standard of written English and preferably an interest in technology and games. The successful candidate will see his or her writing published alongside some of the UK’s most experienced video game journalists. The candidate must be able to confidently work within a team environment whilst showing initiative when needed. Email Jez Bridgeman [email protected] or send your CV and covering letter to: Steel Media Ltd, The House, Kelston Park, BATH, BA1 9AE for details.
