And confirms sequel in the process

Gameloft runs name that character competition for Castle of Magic

We all like a bit of old skool platforming from time to time, especially as there aren’t many companies doing it well at the moment. Gameloft certainly is, with Castle of Magic charming the pants off us on mobile and, recently, iPhone.

But the mobile giant is in a bit of a pickle. It has a very good game starring a likeable character - who has no name. Imagine if Mario was known as 'that bloke with the dungarees', or Sonic was referred to as 'the blue spiky chap'. Would they have become the icons they are today?

So in a canny move to get the community involved (and no doubt sell a few extra copied of the game), Gameloft has set up a competition to name the lead character. You can submit your ideas via their Facebook wall or on their Twitter page.

You can submit up to ten ideas, and you could snag yourself an iPod nano. Gameloft has said that the winning name will appear in the character’s “next adventure,” which is exciting news in itself.
