Last week we sent out a call to arms to all you adorable Pocket Gamer readers. The thing is, you're all more than just readers.

Except you. You're not.

But the rest of you are. Far from being mere consumers, you're active participators, offering insights on the handheld gaming industry at large via the comments left here on these fine pages and in our forums.

Of course, some of you are just natural born comedians, too, and your posts give cause for belly laughs to echo throughout Pocket Gamer Towers. There are comments of both types featured in this week's QuoteStars, but there can only be one winner. This week, it's The Badger.

Commenting on the news story, Porn now coming to the iPhone, The Badger wittily remarked:

"Sweepstake: how long till a Naked Fart Machine app is released? I say next Tuesday"

The App you describe hasn't yet materialised, but it's only a matter of time. Well done The Badger: a £5 iTunes gift voucher will be on its way to you shortly.

But that's not all the praise we have for this week. There was wisdom aplenty to be had from ToniRot, replying in the comments for the Eclipse Interactive: N-Gage is "the red-headed stepchild of the mobile industry" story:

"all of the mobile developers I know are obsessed with the iPhone (I work as a mobile development consultant - sounds better than it is :o) that's because, like it or not, the iPhone is probably the first 'smartphone' device built around the experience of the user, as opposed to its appeal to stockists and carriers.

"The reason people get excited about iPhone is because it represents one of the very few examples of truly 'disruptive' technology, i.e.: it's design forces every other manufacturer of similar products to re-evaluate their strategies, which is of course what is happening. Every new phone is compared to the iPhone now, and the name of the product will, I suspect, become part of common language (like iPod).

"Sure, the marketing is clever, but don't fall into the trap of believing Apple's success in this area is due to any sort of 'hype'. This is pure good product design, and Apple deserves credit for this. The real interest to the developer, however, is not the hardware or the device - it's the software and more particularly the distribution model that is changing everything. Developers see 50,000+ cheap and easy to develop apps downloaded over a billion times since the app store launch, but even more important than that they see the opportunity to target a more mainstream audience.

"I have no affiliation or loyalty to Apple, but as I say, I do have a little bit of industry knowledge, and I have seen the model 'certain' so called development companies work to. To me, Apple is a breath of fresh air to consumers and sales would suggest many people agree."

Very well put and kudos to ToniRot for taking the time to supply such a detailed comment on the state of the mobile games industry.

Sadly, because ToniRot commented via our visual identification widget and not a registered Pocket Gamer account, he/she did not qualify to win. Remember folks, if you want to snare that £5 iTunes gift voucher, you have to comment using a registered Pocket Gamer account.

Finally, we have to give a quick shout out to BigBob, whose rebuff of foul-mouthed DS fan, Diddy, in the comments for the Over-priced A Little Bit of... Dr Kawashima comes to DSiWare story, was nothing short of hilarious:

"My goodness Mr Diddy, no wonder they don't play your tunes on the radio so much these days if you've got such a potty mouth!

"Nevertheless, I think you eloquently made your point about why it's a good ideas to pay more money for less content...you've not been moonlighting as an
investment banker have you?"

Zing!

Remember, this is a weekly competition, folks, so if you want to be in with a chance of winning a £5 iTunes gift voucher next week please do make sure you comment on the forums and on the main site with a registered Pocket Gamer account. You can get one by going here or here.

That's it for now. Well done again to The Badger and good luck to everyone for next week!
