Finnish outfit RedLynx has developed some of the best mobile games to date - think of Pathway to Glory and Reset Generation for Nokia - and now it's honing its innovative focus on iPhone and iPod touch.

Which means that while the momentum in the driving genre is now realistic 3D - check out the quality of Real Racing - RedLynx's DrawRace is a topdown 2D racer in which you have to try and draw the best possible driving path with your finger and chose the optimal speed for your car with control over skidding, braking and acceleration.

The game contains what the company described as "20 closely designed, fun and challenging tracks".

But keeping you coming back for more isn't just a case of shaving micro-seconds off your time for your own personal benefit as you can race against other players around the globe over the network mode. Or if you are playing with two or three friends immediately test who's the best via the hot-seat multiplayer mode.

The global mode breaks down into a top world league plus 70 national leagues, which should cover pretty much all territories where the iPhone and iPod touch are available.

And even more surprisingly perhaps, it's available now for 99c or 59p.
