Sluggish response after the upgrade

To be quite honest, given that Apple is placing such an emphasis on the 3.0 software, charging iPod touch users the upgrade seems unfair.

Reports are filtering out onto the blogosphere about performance issues on the first generation iPod touch that really add injury to insult.

Even right here on Pocket Gamer, iPod touch 1G users are talking about performance issues and crashing after paying for the upgrade.

"I've upgraded my iPod touch 1G as well, but so far, I am not too happy with it," says Pocket Gamer reader Anvar. "[Several] applications are showing severe performance issues (PuzzleQuest, Fieldrunners) and are crashing (PuzzleQuest, even after a reset) - problems I never had before."

Although it seems to be something of a sporadic problem, a thread on the official Apple discussions forum is growing in length as iPod touch 1G users compare stories on the performance of their devices after the upgrade. Some seem quite happy, though many are apparently regretting it.

Anyone else here upgraded an iPod touch 1G? If so, let us know how things are going.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
