iPhone 3.0 with us from 6pm
Cut and paste while you eat your dinner
The latest and greatest iPhone software update, version 3.0, will be rolling out at around 6pm (BST) today. The update arrives just ahead of Friday’s iPhone 3G S release, with the new Apple handset coming pre-installed with the 3.0 software.
Even if you’re sticking with your trusty iPhone 3G for the time being (which should be most non-rich/insane people) there’ll be a whole host of benefits from 3.0, as Stu pointed out in his recent article.
Here’s a full run-down of what existing iPhone users will be playing with over dinner this evening:
-Cut, copy and paste for text
-Landscape keyboard
-MMS texting
-Enhanced search feature
-Voice memos
-Improved calendar
-Improved web performance, including autofill
-Internet tethering (if you’ve paid for the privilege)
-Stereo Bluetooth
-Parental controls
-YouTube logins for synchronised bookmarking
-Bluetooth multiplayer
-Microtransactions/subscriptions for games
