Reign of Swords getting ready to do battle on the iPhone
Social savagery and iPhone invasions coming your way
Reign of Swords is a mobile franchise that's been a long time favourite at Pocket Gamer, so news that a sequel was coming to the iPhone got us quite excited.
To give it its full title, Mobile Battles: Reign of Swords - Episode II tasks you with restoring order to the once mighty Empire of Carrone by seeking out new allies and battling it out against insurgents, rebels, evil and chaos through turn-based strategy gameplay.
Reign of Swords - Episode II allows you to build a custom army from 36 different units, with multiple battle scenarios, weekly in-game rewards and cross-platform playability.
Episode II also bring new multiplayer features to the game, with two online gameplay modes. Head-to-head creates something of an asynchronous, chess-like game in which you make a move then check back later to see your opponents reaction.
Quick battle allows you to assign tactical orders to your army on the battlefield, then send the challenge off to your opponent and let the AI do the fighting.
Punch Entertainment is submitting Mobile Battles: Reign of Swords - Episode II to the App Store for approval tomorrow, so will hopefully be with us very soon. In the meantime, check out our exclusive interview with the developer to learn more about the game's transition to the iPhone.
