Rugby Nations 09 scrums its way to iPhone
Just in time to tie in with the Lions tour
Eminem is clearly a man unaccustomed to having a man's bottom rudely shoved in his face, judging by last night's MTV Movie Awards. If only he'd played rugby in his youth, he wouldn't have been so offended by Bruno's stunt.
Rugby is a man's game. A man's game for real men. Who aren't afraid of sticking their heads near manly bits of other manly men in pursuit of glory. And now you can do this too (virtually) with a new iPhone game called Rugby Nations 09.
Developer Distinctive Developments says it's the first rugby game for iPhone, possibly because nobody's yet figured out how to make the sport work with touchscreen controls.
Distinctive's effort has a mixture of virtual touchscreen buttons, accelerometer controls, and swiping to kick conversions.
It offers three tournaments and ten international teams to play as, and guess what: Will Carling has signed up to promote it.
"I'm passionate about rugby and so are millions of other fans around the world, so it's great to be able to help bring this iPhone game to those fans," he says.
The game's out imminently for £2.99 here in the UK: check the YouTube video below for a taster.
