Montreal isn't usually associated with surfing but apparently the St Lawrence river has a standing wave that's good for the purpose. Maybe Cyanide's Canadian studio isn't so out of the loop then; just as well as it's released its first iPhone game, iSurf.

Played using the iPhone and iPod touch's accelerometers, you have two surfers to choose between and 40 manoeuvres to show off as you try to handle different sea conditions.

Pulling off tricks will see you racking up points, as you break the game's records. You can use these points to unlock new combos as well as buying the sort of beachware that will have people saying things like Gnarly and Rad.

iSurf is out now on the App Store for the promotional price of £1.79.
