Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater iPhone video a fake?

An iPhone ollie, or a faker’s face plant?

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater iPhone video a fake?

A YouTube video of the classic PSOne, Dreamcast and N-Gage skating game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is currently going viral around the iPhone interwebs, which apparently shows the game having been ported to Apple’s handset.

While it’s certainly not an impossible feat, considering the quality of 3D games we’ve seen on the iPhone, there’s some deliberation as to the authenticity of this particular footage.

The game looks remarkably similar to the console versions of yore, and more than a few of the controls appear to be slightly out of sync with the onscreen action.

The most convincing aspects are the menus, which react quite believably. If it is a fake - and Activision apparently told IGN that it is - then it’s a damn good one, but for now we’re not convinced.

Watching this elaborate video it’s easy to see what a great iPhone game Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater would be, so hopefully this viral video might help the game appear one way or the other. Your thoughts on its authenticity on the back of a postcard, please.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
