Nine Inch Nails app finally driven into the App Store

We pondered Apple’s cringe-worthy rejection of yet another application the other day when pop group (or whatever they are) Nine Inch Nails had their official app update blocked due to the ‘questionable content’ nonsense Apple is so keen on.

Although it’s unclear how the issue was resolved, front man Trent Reznor put out a tweet earlier today saying: “The NIN iPhone app is unchanged, the "issues" seem to have been resolved.”

It’d be quite out of character for Apple to backpeddle on a rejection however, so presumably something must have been tweaked somewhere to get it cleared for distribution.

The original problem was apparently something to do with the application scraping content from the internet.

The news comes as the iPhone and iPod touch world gears up to receive the 3.0 software update, which will include the parental controls that we’re hoping will allow Apple to relax its strict submissions policy annd make the App Store a little more adult friendly.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
