Championship Manager website tested, leaks iPhone screenshots

We'd heard the classic football management game Championship Manager was due for the iPhone treatment, but little else has really been said about it.

Pocket Gamer reader David Little (cheers Dave!) has noticed that the official Champ Man website is apparently gearing up for the launch of its iPhone page, and several screenshots and a description have gone live - presumably as the layout is being tested.

It now looks as though we can expect the game to be known as Championship Manager Express 2009, and will use a menu system in the phone’s portrait orientation throughout. It also looks to sport all that complex sports management statistics stuff that fans of the game love so much.

The support page, for the direct link from the App Store, is also currently visible, explaining how to crack off a new game of the ever popular Champ Man on your iPhone.

Hopefully all this means the game is almost with us, so keep a close eye out here on Pocket Gamer and over on the Champ Man website for more news as it happens.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
