iPhone’s Need for Speed: Undercover revving up to go

Might not be undercover for much longer

iPhone’s Need for Speed: Undercover revving up to go

Fast & Furious has upped the bar once again for iPhone racers, with the same developer (Firemint) also gearing up to release its highly anticipated Real Racing.

So, really, Firemint hasn’t had all that much competition lately - except from itself - though it seems EA might finally be waiting at the chequered flag.

We heard about Need For Speed: Undercover last year, though the game ground to a sudden and worrying halt (kind of like my old Fiesta used to do). Since then there’s been more speculation about why the game was apparently dropped than when it might actually get a release date.

That is until EA Mobile’s Craig Law put out a tweet saying his followers (and fans of EA iPhone games in general, of course) should “start their engines... this is on the way VERY soon.”

This suggests that Need For Speed: Undercover is in the App Store approval system right now, so keep your nose peeled for the scent of burning rubber coming your way.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
