Skype coming to DSi?

Over the last few weeks, Nintendo has set the wheels of the rumour mill off on a long orbit after Miyamoto said at GDC: "I'm interested in [a system] when you're walking in town with your DS, you can use various services."

A Nintendo phone? Not quite. Iwata discounted the possibility of a conventional phone, insisting that it was unwilling to release a device that requires a monthly subscription of any kind.

That inevitably left room for speculation about VOIP, and today the speculation has taken concrete form thanks to a revelation from a Skype representative speaking with TechRadar: "Whilst we can't comment on any future plans to bring Skype to Nintendo's DSi, it would technically be possible."

So, not a confirmation by any means, but if you like to spend your time assembling evidence and making inferences, there are more tenuous theories than this one.
