Halo going mobile?

The internet hawks over at Joystiq have picked up on a listing at CareerBuilder.com posted by Microsoft, looking for software capable fans of one of its biggest franchises.

“Do you love Halo? Do online social communities and console video games excite you?” the listing asks. “Do you love building scalable online infrastructure & websites for large and passionate audiences? The Halo franchise studio is looking for a strong software development engineer with a passion for video games and online services. We have an ambitious task ahead, taking the current Halo community and online gaming support system and bringing it to the next level.”

This next level is apparently some kind of mobile system, intended to create “an immersive Halo world that follows the dedicated Halo fan wherever they go”. It also requests engineers conversant with ‘connected technology’, all of which points toward an iPhone game.

But Microsoft’s unlikely to begin supporting Apple’s platform, considering it’s giving its own mobile system, Windows Mobile, another big push. Our money’s on a big name launch title for the elusive Windows Mobile 7.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
