The Bejeweled franchise clocked up a mind-thraping 25 million units sold last year, and has undoubtedly added another few mil to that figure since then – especially since Bejeweled Twist was launched on the PC.

This latest addition to the popular jewel swapping franchise has to be one of the most anticipated mobile adaptations in a long time, which we can only hope will make its way onto other platforms, like the iPhone, N-Gage and Android, too.

But for now, the mobile port of Bejeweled Twist has just been launched in the US, exclusive to Verizon customers. It was made available as a full purchase at $6.99 (or on a monthly subscription at half price) yesterday, April 8th, and is apparently compatible with any touchscreen phones currently operating on the Verizon network.

We’ve got our feelers out for any news on when/if/how Bejeweled Twist will be rolled out in other territories, so watch this space for all your jewel swapping info.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
