iPhone drivers go mad for Fast & Furious YouTube connectivity

Despite my best efforts to run the Fast & Furious films through the mud, Vin’s new petrolhead, meat-brain flick has gone down a storm at the box office, though it’s nowhere near as interesting as the reaction iPhone players have had to the licensed game.

Firemint built a rather unique form of online connectivity into the Silver Award-winning Fast & Furious: The Game, allowing players to create a free Cloudcell account from within the game, then upload replays of their finest rubber-burning moments direct to YouTube.

All the replays are stored in publisher I-play’s dedicated Fast & Furious YouTube channel, and almost 700 have been uploaded during the game’s opening weekend, with more than 3,000 hot-wheeled drivers registering for the service.

Head on over to the Fast & Furious YouTube channel and check out some of the mad driving skills, and feel free to give us links to your own replays in the comments section below.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
