One of the biggest independent iPhone success stories now has its second chapter with the eagerly awaited launch of iShoot 2.0 from Naughty Bits Software.

Ethan Nicholas, who famously quit his job following the huge success of the original iShoot title has clearly been using his gardening leave to the full in order to put together an update.

The new updated version (which is a free upgrade to all those who already own the full game) adds a host of new features, but the most notable are the addition of a rule editor allowing players to alter the way the game is played (such as tweaking the tank's armour, editing or creating new weapons and the amount of cash players receive), plus online multiplayer mode allowing up to 4 players with devices on wi-fi network to blast away at one another.

With the original game selling over 400,000 copies since its launch in October 2008, Naughty Bits understandably have high hopes for the sequel, however rumours that Ethan will quit his new job if he has another hit on his hand are apparently unfounded.
