iTag Live is already one of the more innovative location-based iPhone games, using GPS to get players shooting each other in a virtual lasertag-style game.

Now the company behind it, ICS Mobile, has announced a deal with FreeConferenceCall.com to bring, yep, free conference call technology to the game, letting players voice-chat with their team mates while chasing their opponents.

Meanwhile, ICS has revealed that more than 1,000 people downloaded iTag Live Lite during its first 24 hours of availability on the App Store last week.

CEO Joe Bayen tells PocketGamer.biz that the company faced some obstacles, including incompatibilities with wireless networks in France and Italy, and the fact that the game doesn't work on non-3G iPhones.

However, ICS is now working on the next-generation version of iTag Live, with some exciting new features. For more on those, see the PocketGamer.biz story.
