Pinball Fantasies to follow Pinball Dreams on iPhone
The wizards are back
For us aging Amiga-nauts, the news that Digital Illusions classic pinball simulator Pinball Dreams had been converted to the iPhone was damnably exciting news.
There were rumours that the developer behind the iPhone port, Cowboy Rodeo, were to gauge how well the first game performed before making a decision on its sequel.
According to Tap To Play, Pinball Dreams has done great business and the team is now working on porting the equally popular (and, if truth be told, slightly superior) Pinball Fantasies to Apple’s platform.
The 1992 sequel featured four different tables (Party Land, Speed Devils, Billion Dollar Gameshow and Stones ‘N Bones) and nicely tweaked ball physics.
We just hope this leads to a new trend in converting those 16-bit classics to the iPhone, as the two platforms seems to be wonderfully compatible.
My vote’s for a conversion of some Cinemaware games, if any Amiga-addicted developers are listening. Rocket Ranger and Lords of the Rising Sun first, please.
