Joystiq has been taking a look at the finalists for this year’s prestigious IGF Mobile awards, which has revealed the only PSP title in the line up to be an indie game that couldn’t get a publisher.

Rhythm of War is a beautiful looking music/rhythm game that sees you slip-sliding through different time periods to fend off aliens by hitting the four tracks in time with the music.

Alexey Menshikov, producer of Rhythm of War, said the game has struggled to get a publisher due to a general lack of support for the PSP.

The developer is now hoping to find an outlet through the PlayStation Store, and with the extra coverage it’ll get from the IGF Mobile ceremony (whether it wins or not, to be honest) it ought to get the attention it clearly deserves.

Not a good sign for the PSP in general, though. One of many bad signs, in fact…

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
