But what will they be?

Sony: ‘Significant PlayStation IPs’ will save the PSP in 2009

Most of what’s been written about the PSP in the last few months can be summed up in two words: it’s boned.

But according to Sony UK product manager Claire Backhouse - a short interview with whom MCV published this morning - 2009 is going to be the PSP’s renaissance, with several PlayStation IPs in development.

“This year we are also launching a host of significant PlayStation IPs on the PSP platform,” Backhouse said, “the first being Resistance Retribution, which will help drive sales.”

So what else could be in the pipeline? Sony still has a few significant IPs, but many of them - Metal Gear, God of War – have already had PSP versions. Of course, Backhouse’s comments don’t rule out repeat performances.

In any case, I'd like to see LittleBigPlanet. What about you?
