If you don't like numbers look away now. The virtual stock exchange for game sales and Metacritic scores, The Sim Exchange, has just opened its book on the total sales of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

The price estimate was set at 2 million units, although early trading took this down to 1.96 million.

The website works by giving you virtual cash that you can spend effectively betting on the sales and review scores of computer games. Just like a stock exchange, the confidence of the market will drive prices up, but thanks to the ability to sell or short shares, you can drive the price down too.

Of course, unlike the stock exchange, at some point the website will close out a share price, either at the end of the month if you're buying shares on monthly sales, or when the Metacritic score or total lifetime sales can be totaled up.

But until that point, you can trade, testing your views against the sentiment of the wider market.

As for other DS-related predictions on the site, lifetime DS sales are currently trading at 155.5 million units, while current UK number 1 game Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is predicted to sell a total of 2.39 million copies, and Dragon Quest IX a whopping 6.82 million.
