The Pandora is a new UK designed and built handheld darling that we’ve had our roving eye on for quite some time, and two new YouTube videos have just appeared on the official site showing some early, working versions.

The new FDM (fused deposition modelling) cases have apparently landed on the Pandora workbenches, and the team couldn’t wait to get the magic gubbins back inside the box and see how she looked.

As you can see, everything fitted together first time, by the looks of things, and the crew soon had a working prototype and gave Pandora a good fondling.

Bear in mind these are FDM cases, which is a representation of the completed case, but without any niceties or shiny bits - the commercial case will be a lot easier on the eye.

There were some initial problems after the preorders went live last November, with a lot of refunds being sent out. But according to the schedule on the site, the prototype casing was due a week or two after the finished design, which was pegged for January 15th.

The next step suggests the finished product within two to four weeks after the FDM stage, so everything looks to be back on schedule for finally letting Pandora out of her box.

Watch this space (and these videos, of course).

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
