Swedish PC developer Paradox Interactive is bringing two of its games to mobile, via a deal with Herocraft. They are Hearts of Iron III and Majesty 2.

EVP Fredrik Wester told us more about the company's decision to go mobile. "Our gamers have requested mobile versions of our titles for a long time, so you can say this is customer-driven," he says.

"This is another opportunity for our fans to play some of their favourite titles on another platform with a small barrier of entry. We felt that the time was right and we were able to find a partner that shared our vision for the finalised products."

Wester says the two games are nearing completion, and are shaping up well.

"The games will have to be adapted to fit the mobile platform, meaning some limitations on scope for example, but the idea is to keep the basic gameplay that makes both titles a great experience with addictive gameplay."

Who are the mobile versions aimed at - existing players of the PC titles, or a new audience? As you might expect, Wester says it's both.

"I think we will reach both existing fans and new ones who haven't discovered our PC releases yet," he says. "I believe there is a cross-over with a lot of gamers playing games on different platforms."

While the initial releases are for regular mobile phones, it seems Paradox is already looking to other mobile platforms, including the youknowwhat.

"We are looking at all types of cellphones, and the iPhone is certainly part of our plans," he says.
