Multiplayer iPhone speedboat racing now at your fingertips

Wave Blazer cuts a path onto the App Store

Polarbit has consistently impressed us with its iPhone racers – releasing one of the first onto the App Store (Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart) and one of the sexiest (Raging Thunder), which both progressed the possibilities of 3D racing games on the iPhone.

The team has just followed these hot drivers up with Wave Blazer, a 3D speedboat racing game with full online multiplayer and accelerometer controls.

"Raging Thunder and Crash Nitro Kart have both been extremely well received by gamers and in reviews the world over. Looking to our previous games, we definitely have a lot to live up to in terms of both visual quality and gameplay value," says Janne Korpela, co-founder of Polarbit and lead developer of Wave Blazer.

"We are confident that we have managed to up the ante an additional notch with Wave Blazer and that gamers will be just as excited about it as they have been about Raging Thunder and Crash Nitro Kart."

As shamelessly search engine optimised as that quote is, it's hard to disagree with. Judging by the screenshots, fancy reflective effects in the water and the ultra-fast gameplay, Wave Blazer does indeed appear to take iPhone racing up a notch. As with its other iPhone titles, Wave Blazer has previously appeared on the mobile platform, where it managed to impress us enough to lend it a Bronze Award (check out our Wave Blazer mobile review).

And weighing in at only three quid, its price bracket is pretty appealing, too. Hit the 'Buy It!' button to check it out on the App Store, and give the 'Track It!' button a bit of attention so you don't miss out on any further Wave Blazer news.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
