iPhone SimCity almost fully built

The lucky devils over at VentureBeat recently got a hands-on with EA's hot iPhone property, SimCity, saying the almost complete city-building simulator resembles the PC's SimCity 3000 game quite closely – with a few vital iPhone tweaks to improve the handheld experience.

Multi-touch is apparently used for zooming in and out of your city, with touch controls providing the rest of the architectural reins. Details are otherwise still pretty thin on the ground, though VentureBeat's report at least puts our minds at ease by confirming we'll be seeing a faithful representation of SimCity on our iPhone's.

Slated for a December release, the report closes by pointing out that the dev team were still working on reducing some pretty extensive loading times – otherwise it seems ready to go. Eep!

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
