It might have only been announced today, but we're already pretty excited about upcoming N-Gage game Mega Monsters.

Well, what's not to like? It lets you create and customise your own fearsome monster, then send it through proper 3D city environments, destroying everything in its path.

Plus it's being developed by Aussie firm Firemint, one of the rising stars of the mobile games scene.

Thing is, earlier today we didn't have any screenshots, but we've rectified that. The pics above are the officially released shots, which handily fit into our portrait-sized picture box.

You want more? The good people at Nokia supplied us with some exclusive shots showing Mega Monsters running in landscape mode, which you can see below.

One more thing to add, speculation-wise. Firemint's game Real Racing, which was unveiled earlier this year, has a spin-off Facebook application.

Could such functionality also be included in Mega Monsters? For example showing off your monster in your Facebook profile - or even battling those of other players? Time will tell.

Anyway, those screenshots we mentioned:

With this and the recently-announced Dance Fabulous, 2009 is already shaping up as a good one for first-party N-Gage games.
