First look at iPhone's Fastlane Street Racing

Driving game puts its foot to the iPhone floor

First look at iPhone's Fastlane Street Racing

Perhaps we just didn't know what to expect with the iPhone, but when we see gameplay videos like the one below for the forthcoming racing game, Fastlane Street Racing, we're mighty impressed.

If any games or applications have shown what the iPhone's capable of in the hands of the right developer, it's the racing titles, which we've seen grow from cell-shaded cartoon SNES clones to full-on console quality dust burners.

With eight city-based routes, two race tracks, ten different cars and five game modes (no direct mention of multiplayer, however), Fastlane Street Racing looks set to take the lead in the impressive catalogue of iPhone racers. It's currently going through the submissions process, so hit the 'Track It!' button for more news as we get it.

In the meantime, check out the screenies and video, and don't forget to pick up your jaw afterwards.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
