Pass the Pigs trots out onto the iPhone

Pork-based casino fun now at the App Butchers

Pass the Pigs trots out onto the iPhone

We took a look at the mobile version of Pass the Pigs about a month ago, and quite enjoyed the rather obscure bacon-backed casino antics. Now THQ Wireless has pushed the pork out onto the App Store, at £2.99, with a new accelerometer control added to the meat of the gameplay.

"The launch of Pass the Pigs marks a new commitment by THQ Wireless to bring casual, mass-market games to the mobile arena," said Adam Comiskey, vice president of THQ Wireless. "It's a hugely fun and entertaining game with one-button controls and we think fans of casual games will enjoy this quick-play format."

Using the new 'shake 'n roll' technology, the harder you rattle your iPhone, the more your porky friends will bounce about the screen and hopefully land you a winning score. Assuming your handset doesn't fly out of your hand and into the nearest wall.

The iPhone version of Pass the Pigs also brings a new mode to the brand: Pig´s Life. Here you'll encounter a unique 'life path' game mechanic taking you through four phases of a pig's life. Choices based on love, wisdom or money combine to unravel a variety of possible story combinations. As the players progress through the game, they can also unlock vibrant hats and disguises for their pig to wear, from Disco-Pig to Robo-Pig.

You know, it sounds just insane enough to work. Hit 'Buy It!' to find out.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
