O2 mobile game download charts and new releases: October 24th

Two exciting new adaptations of classic games are headlining the new releases for us this week; Prince of Persia Zero and Ghosts 'n Goblins Gold.

The mobile versions of Jordan Mechner's 1989 Apple II platform game have actually preserved the style and gameplay of the original better than any other platform, and variations of the series consistently win themselves Silver Awards (8/10) here on Pocket Gamer, so we have suitably high expectations for this latest incarnation of the Prince.

Ghosts 'n Goblins Gold is far more polarising when it comes to gathering legions of fans under its banner. Its harsh difficulty level has become something of a gaming tradition, which is one of the most significant aspects when it comes to dividing player's opinions. Either way, it provides a vigorous challenge and it's always good to see Sir Arthur return to the screen with lance in hand (even if he spends most of his time running around in his underwear).

In fact, while we're talking about Pocket Gamer awards, this week is a particularly strong one when it comes to new releases. Both Car Jack Streets and Ghostbusters have landed themselves Silver Awards recently, while Castle of Magic pulled in a very impressive Gold, so there's some hot games out there at the O2 Portal this week.

And don't miss out on Wonder Blocks while you're there. It's a travesty that it never made its way particularly high in the charts, as it deserved to do (another Silver Award winner), but now the price has dropped to just three quid it's made it into the Top 10 at last – let's hope it gets to stay there for a week or two.
