Andy Qua has seen rave reviews of his free 3D flyer, Cube Runner, on the App Store, which undoubtedly enthused him to crack on with a sequel.

Cube Runner II is now a paid app (only a cheap one at just £1.79, mind – click 'Buy It!' below) and appears to feature very similar, high-speed flying escapades as you pilot your ship through forests and valleys of cubes and other geometric obstacles.

The original game allowed you to download custom maps from a rapidly increasing community of Cube Runners, and Qua's new version even includes a level and objects editor to help you fashion your own polygonal adventures. There's also a new time trial mode for stalwarts to check out, and it's worth mentioning that the original game is still available for free in case you feel like a test drive.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
