Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon DS coming to Europe in December

Remake of the 1990 NES classic gets a Western release date

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon DS coming to Europe in December

Nintendo has announced a UK release date for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on DS. The game, which is a remake of the first Fire Emblem game ever released (back in 1990), will arrive in Europe on December 5th.

Shadow Dragon has already been out in Japan for a couple of months, but the December release date for Europe will mean it comes out ahead of the US, which is getting it sometime in 2009.

The tactical turn-based RPG features an epic single-player story, as well as several wi-fi options.

Players will be able to battle one another online using their created characters - battles which are made all the better by the inclusion of Mic Chat, You'll also be able to visit a special online armoury shop to buy new items, gain a new class of character and sell your own weapons for money.

If you're feeling generous, you can loan your battle-seasoned units to other players in order to boost their forces. Or borrow some of your own from friends who have uploaded their to the server.

The whole game has, of course, been given the dual-screen treatment and features polished graphics and new touchscreen controls.

Get your copy in on December 5th - just in time for Christmas.
