The creator of the celebrated flight simulator that recently winged its way onto the iPhone (X-Plane 9) has launched a page on the game's official website dedicated to the Apple adaptation.

On it, he details the updates we can expect once X-Plane 9.1 makes it through the App Store authorisation process (which it's already been submitted to). Listed among the improvements are a 25 per cent increase in frame-rates, a calibration screen for the accelerometer, a higher contrast HUD, automatic flaps when coming in to land and a tweaked interface.

The new website also tells the story of the mad dash to development that the iPhone version went through; granting a very interesting and entertaining insight into the game's creation. If you're a fan of the pocket-sized flight sim, do yourself a significant favour and go check it out.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
