Gameloft launches Wonder Blocks mobile game
It's Tetris crossed with Tower Bloxx! Kind of...
Gameloft has unveiled its latest mobile puzzler, and it looks rather fun. It's called Wonder Blocks.
The aim is to travel to seven Wonders of the World, including the pyramids and the Taj Mahal, and complete colourful block-stacking challenges.
It appears to involve building towers of blocks without them getting too wobbly and falling over. How? By finding the best combination of block colours and shapes.
Gameloft promises one-thumb controls and decent physics and friction effects to spice up the game. There'll also be several modes, including Quick Play, Story Mode, Boss Rush, Time Attack and Tangram.
Oh, and there's a bunch of cute characters who apparently help you out, in some undefined way.
The Tetris meets Tower Bloxx comparison seems pretty valid based on the game's description and screenshots, although the inclusion of those characters also put us in mind of a mobile game from 2006 called AquaStax.
