In lots of ways, the Spore Creature Creator raised more questions than it answered. Not that we're opposed to random obscurity or gaming surrealism, but quite where this digital Play-Doh marketing campaign is going is perplexing to even the most addled gaming brain.

Step forth monster-masher extraordinaire Will Wright, who's agreed to meet up with his fans to answer Spore related questions in person. London's Oxford Street HMV store is to be the venue for 200 'wristbanded' fans at 12:30 on Wednesday September 3rd.

These elusive wristbands (which, we believe, will have the power to mutate wearers into weird, bug-eyed, 14-legged, smiling technicolor monsters) will be available free to collect at the shop from 9am that same morning, so any aspiring Spore-tsmen out there had better get up early.

We are warned, however, that due to the 'whimsical nature of the entertainment industry' details are subject to change without notice. Is that a wry nod toward the mutative nature of the game, or is there a chance that the organisers might be subtly warning us they're a bit slack?

If you stop by to see Will, be sure to let pocket gamers know what he had to say on our forums.

We've got the first interview with him on the forthcoming mobile game, meanwhile, so look out for that later this week.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
