Rare has confirmed a release date for its upcoming DS game Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise.

Speaking to news-loving site, videogaming247, the developer has said the game will be released first in the US on September 2nd, then in the UK and Europe on September 5th. The rest of the world will get the gardening game on September 11th.

THQ is publishing the DS version of the game previously only available on Xbox 360.

The game has you planting and tending to your own garden with the objective of attracting various species of animal piñatas to it. Once they're there, you need to maintain harmony; keeping them happy and making sure there's no bloodshed (or in this case, sweets-shed).

It was a lot of fun on Xbox 360 so let's hope it's as good on DS. We'll have a review for you shortly.
