EA brings a whole new style of game to DS in Henry Hatsworth

Before I go any further, I'll say now that Henry Hatsworth is a terrible name for a character. It sounds like the sort of name you'd make up quickly on the spot if you'd just been caught doing something bad by the police.

Fortunately the actual game Henry Hatsworth will be playable in - which shares the same name - sounds a little less thrown together. Well, a little.

The game has just been announced by EA and will be released under its Casual label. It's described as a 'puzzling adventure', which doesn't even mean it combines the both in one seamless experience. It's literally a puzzle game on one screen and a platform adventure one on the other. Players will be able to switch between the two whenever they fancy.

Henry Hatsworth is the "quirky, light-hearted character" who needs to be guided through this adventure. The game will include five worlds with 30 levels and contain a whole variety of opponents and end-of-world bosses.

The puzzle and platforming parts of the game apparently have a cause and effect inter-relationship. So if you complete puzzle combinations and defeat puzzle enemies, you'll gain power-ups, health and energy to supercharge Hatsworth in his adventure.

Rubbish name aside, it sounds like it could be quite interesting. You can check out the game in the first screenshots released above. The DS-only title is currently down for a release some time in 2009.
