Painting is one of those things: you can do it or you can't. What's more, you find out at an early age, when you bring your first artwork home from school, and see your parents faces' fall in disappointment.

Or was that just us? Ah.

If you suffered similarly, then iCanSketchIt probably won't be for you. But if you have an arty bent, it could be an essential iPhone app.

It's a painting game where you're shown a picture and have to copy it as accurately as possible, against the clock. Naturally, you get a multi-colour sketch palette to do it with, as well as adjustable brush sizes.

The game offers precision and timed game modes, as well as online high scores to rate your skills against the world. What's more, developer Andrew Borland says he'll soon introduce programmable level packs to extend the fun.

The game costs £1.19 from the App Store, and you can get it by clicking here.
