'Playing' music has taken on an entirely different meaning these days, and it seems anyone can become a one man band with the spate of rhythm games that have topped the charts.

JoWood has announced another such title for the DS to be released this September: Music Monstars. That's spelt correctly, by the way.

Your stylus will take on the role of piano, drums and guitars as you hammer, slay and shred your way through five different game modes. What adds a little dimension to this particular rhythm game is the music manager and producer features, as well as a LAN connection enabling you to form a band with other DS musicians.

Featuring 'classic' hits like 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' by Kylie Minogue, 'I Want To Break Free' by Queen, 'The Final Countdown' by Europe and 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode, there should be an eclectic enough mix of track to suit all tastes.

Keep your ear to the ground by strumming the 'Track It!' button and in the meantime check out the video of Music Monstars in action below:

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
