US gamers getting a Backstage Pass

New Guitar Hero III mobile game announced

Following Guitar Hero III Mobile's million-selling hit in the US, Hands-On has just released a new version of the rock-hard title to US pocket gamers.

Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass incorporates the expected axe-man antics that made Guitar Hero the phenomenon it is, while adding an extra simulation element of getting your rock stars the gigs they want.

This requires you to take on the role of band manager and promoter; getting your music on TV and radio, building buzz and street cred, creating demo tapes, signing record contracts, handling press interviews and, of course, rehearsing and playing shows.

Virtual money will be poured over hit musicians, allowing them to buy new guitars and to work their way into a variety of venues in an effort to gain the attention of record labels and soar to the top of the charts.

Hands-On promises this greater depth of play will provide something in the region of 25 hours of gameplay, with an additional online mode making it possible to download new guitars and music, and even join or create official Backstage Pass contests (that you can wager your in-game earnings on).

Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass looks set to expand on the guitar slamming mobile game quite considerably. What we want to know now is a) will it come to the UK, and b) will the connected features be in if so?

Thrash the 'Track It!' button now to stay at the top of the Pocket Gamer news charts.

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
