E3 2008: Dragon Quest IV to kick off DS DQ trilogy this September

It's a series that's almost too prolific to fully keep track of, but the US has finally been granted a release date for a full English translation of the dedicated Dragon Quest DS game, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.

With character designs fresh from the pencil of acclaimed manga artist Akira Toriyama and accompanying compositions by renowned composer Koichi Sugiyama, it's set to be a dual-screen sensory feast.

Dragon Quest has long been celebrated for its ability to tell epic tales through strong characterisation, and with all new 3D visuals and a sprawling, active world set within the Dragon Quest universe, Yuji Horii's vision looks set to take on new, handheld life.

Despite being labelled as chapter four, this September release is the first in a forthcoming trilogy of DS-based Dragon Quest titles (it worked for Star Wars, after all), with Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie to follow shortly.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
